Flying Bean Coffee: Roasters and Co-working
📍Calle del Doctor Vila Barberà, 12
Starting in the neighborhood of Arrancapins, Flying Bean is a spacious ground-floor shop is just as famous for its work-friendly environment as its coffee. There are plenty of tables to balance your latte and laptop, complemented by a solid menu of classics like tostadas con tomate and more options like avocado and eggs.
As they roast their own coffee on-site, the baristas take immense care in their craft; expect exceptional espresso and pour-overs. If you're looking for even more dedication, their space next door is a full co-working office with fixed and hot desks.
Note: They have a beautiful terrace, so on warmer days, you can work outside and enjoy an iced drink with the Valencia sun on your back.
- Vibe: Industrial and spacious
- Best For: Deep work sessions
- Must-Try: House roast espresso
Federal Café: Modern, bright, and social
📍Carrer de l'Ambaixador Vich, 15
Federal has been a favorite of ours for years, a reliable anchor when we want an energizing atmosphere. With high ceilings, lush greenery, and modern, bright decor, it's a perfect workspace in the Ciutat Vella (City Center).
The heart of the café is a huge dedicated shared work table. During the weekdays, it's a hub for students, remote workers, and creatives. If you prefer to watch the world go by, you can also perch at the side benches with your laptop or tablet. They have served Barcelona's El Magnífico coffee for as long as we can remember, alongside a popular all-day food menu.
Note: On weekends, the shared work table is a laptop-free zone to make room for the brunch crowd.
- Vibe: Bright, social, and modern
- Best For: Brunch followed by an afternoon of work
- Must-Try: Iced latte and Reuben sandwich
FAV COFFEE: Minimalism near Turia
📍Carrer del Cronista Carreres, 1
Located just a 10-minute walk from the center on the edge of the Turia Park, Fav Coffee has been a "must-visit" since it opened in 2023. They serve excellent coffee, usually roasted by Hola Coffee from Madrid, with a rotating choice of roasts for both espresso and filter.
While seating is more limited here than at Flying Bean, the midday light and the bustle of regulars create a high-energy environment. It's a great spot for a shorter, more intense work session where the quality of the coffee is the priority.
- Vibe: Clean, minimalist, and neighborhood-focused
- Best For: A quick morning sprint or a creative break near the Turia
- Must-Try: Any roast from Hola Coffee (Madrid)
Pals Café: Design-led and welcoming
📍Carrer Mestre Palau, 4
Pals opened in early 2025 in the Extramurs neighborhood and has quickly become a local favorite. It's an incredibly welcoming environment for laptops, featuring an industrial-modern interior and a floor-to-ceiling front window that opens up on summer days.
They have a shared table with 6 seats right at the front, specifically designed for those looking to study or focus on a project. It's a beautiful, plant-filled environment designed to spark new ideas.
- Vibe: Bright, lush and welcoming
- Best For: Finding inspiration in a nice environment
- Must-Try: Their creative toast options and plates
A Note on café etiquette
To keep these spaces welcoming for everyone, we recommend following a few simple rules:
- The 2-hour rule: If you've been settled in for two hours, show some love to the shop by ordering a second coffee or a snack.
- The weekend shift: Most specialty spots prioritize social gatherings on Saturdays and Sundays. Consider leaving the laptop at home and simply enjoying the coffee and food.
