Since its opening, we've been intrigued by Casa Raíz, which has quickly established itself as one of Ruzafa's most popular cafés. They serve consistently great coffee, using beans roasted by the renowned Hola Coffee from Madrid. We always find ourselves stopping by for a cortado or one of their well-pulled espressos.
Beyond the caffeine, they offer a unique selection of locally-made ice cream, which is a nice complement to a hot espresso on a sunny afternoon. The space itself is a beautiful restoration; they've maintained the original character of the building with high ceilings and antique wood doors, blending classic Valencian architecture with modern minimalist elements.
If you're looking for a quiet moment, the spacious terrace at the back is a hidden gem for those temperate spring and autumn days. For the work crowd, Casa Raíz is great on weekdays, featuring a large communal table perfect for focus. Note that they preserve the social vibe on weekends, so keep your laptop sessions to Monday through Friday. It's no surprise they’ve already earned a spot on the "Best Coffee Shops in Spain" list, this is a must-visit for any serious coffee enthusiast.
